Even in ancient times, striking buildings were realized to give cities and squares a face. In modern times, too, architecture that creates identity is omnipresent. The architects of Harter+Kanzler have followed this idea with their significant solitaire in a newly developed quarter in the university city of Freiburg im Breisgau.

Modern, high and functional – the nine-story tower, already visible from afar, marks the entrance to the district. With its tower-like design, the point skyscraper impresses with the clear stacking of the floors. The judicious use of the light-colored “Weimar HS” grade lends the characteristic building structure a special effect through the targeted reflection of light. Expressive details such as cantilevered balconies and partial facades in relief with clinker brick heads add to the accentuation.

We present this and six other projects with exciting designs and a unique effect of clinker in this 41st TOPOBJECT.
